If your stay at Outros Tempos – Village tourism, is limited to the day of arrival, to a full day and the day of departure, we suggest this journey, which includes visits to places that reflect the essence of the Douro Valley: landscape, history, «quintas», river.
 
To enjoy the beauty of the Alto Douro wine region, a World Heritage Site, we suggest the ascent to the Miradouro de São Domingos (São Domingos Viewpoint), observation of the Marco Pombalino nr. 27 (demarcation of 1756, by the Marquis of Pombal), visit to a «quinta» / wine estate (Tedo, Panascal, Seixo or Bomfim) with wine tasting. In Pinhão, is recommended a boat trip on the River Douro or a train ride along the Douro, from this village to the village of Pocinho.
 
Alternatively, abdicate of the Marco Pombalino and São Domingos Viewpoint and go down to the Douro directly from Armamar, following the suggestions in the previous paragraph. From village of Pinhão, you can climb the viewpoint of Casal de Loivos (6th World Landscape, by the BBC), using own car or the viewpoint of Monte das Carvalhas, using the panoramic bus.
