Camilo Castelo Branco was born in Lisbon 3/16/1825, but lived part of his childhood and adolescence between Vilarinho de Samardã and Vila Real. In this city was "enthroned": the Day of the letters Transmontanas and Alto-Douro is the date of his birth.
