The Douro Line
The Douro Line is a railway line in Portugal, Iberian gauge, connecting the centre of Porto to Pocinho at an extension of about 200 km. Began construction in 1875 and was completed on 9 December 1887. In the nineteenth century was considered a great work of engineering. It provides, throughout its course, especially in the Alto Douro Wine Region, the view of stunning scenery. There are several routes that our dear visitors can meet:
Historic Train Régua-Tua-Régua
This train consists of five historic carriages, wood, dating from the early twentieth century. Starts in Peso da Régua and ends in the Tua, always overlooking the Douro river and the terraced vineyards, in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Program:
Starts from Régua 15h22 towards Tua, stopping in Pinhão. Animation on board with traditional music and singing group of the region and a toast with Port wine. Return to Régua by 18h32.
Prices:
Adults: € 35;
Children: € 15 (5 to 12 years inclusive).
Dates:
Saturdays between June 06 and 31 October 2015;
Sundays, between 16 August and 04 October 2015.
